It’s the most wonderful time of the year to give!

One of our greatest missions at Renew Family Wealth is to impact the community around us. End of year giving is the perfect opportunity for you and your family to do just that. Nearly one-third of annual giving occurs in December, with many nonprofits earning 25-50% of their annual funds during this time. It is an integral time of year for many organizations. If you are discussing where to give for the end of the year, here are 7 nonprofits that we recommend giving to. You can also click on the links provided to read more about the organizations.

  1. JH Outback - Starting in 1996, JH Outback has focused on restoring relationships within families. Whether it be parent/child relationships or marriages, they hope to give guests a renewed perspective on life. Over a 48 hour weekend guests will hear about Life Purpose, Relationships, Personal Values, and Spiritual Priorities resulting in transformations in families. This is an organization that we have personally attended and help to lead. We have witnessed miracles come out of these weekends with generational ties being broken, resulting in a better future for generations to come.

  2. Restoration Bridge International - In 2001 Pastor Daniel West saw a need in Palm Beach County to close the hunger gap in low-income communities. He started giving out of his own pantry, but soon was able to partner with a local Publix to open a food pantry in a church closet. Soon they were serving 200 families 2 days a week. When the pandemic hit in 2020, Restoration Bridge began serving 5,000-7,000 families a week. The organization also partners with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and their “Families in Crisis” program. Families in Crisis provides food to families when officers respond to emergency calls and see that they have no food. Over the past 21 years, Restoration Bridge has grown to serve over 3 million families with fresh and nonperishable grocery items 5 days a week, including a Saturday pantry and distribution program.

  3. Fort Freedom - On average, approximately 22 veterans commit suicide a day. That is 22 too many. Founded in 2017 by a U.S. Army veteran, Fort Freedom is committed to minimizing that number by freeing veterans from the devastating effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Using trauma therapists, nutritionists, fitness coaches, and more, Fort Freedom provides veterans with a 12-week program to help them find their purpose in life again.

  4. Hearts for Moms - In 2020 nearly 6,200 babies were born to single mothers in Palm Beach County. Statistics show that single moms are less likely to complete their education or receive a college degree and that 40% of single mom households live in poverty. Heart for Moms is an organization dedicated to helping end generational cycles of single mom households within Palm Beach County. The Heart for Moms Young Moms Program (serving ages 29 and under) and Workforce Moms Program (serving ages 30-40) provides each mom with support and empowerment to break the cycle of poverty by teaching them skills to become self-sufficient. Each mom is assigned a mentor to guide them through the program. Skills development classes include budgeting, job skills, parenting skills, and educational guidance. Heart for Moms also helps supplement the cost of child care, education, transportation, and other needs so the moms can continue working or complete their education.

  5. First Care Women’s Clinic - First Care Women’s Clinic has been providing life-affirming care to women in Palm Beach County since 1983. Today they have grown to a full service women’s clinic providing pregnancy tests, STI testing, free ultrasounds, and counseling services. They also work closely with 3 other Palm Beach County organizations, You Moms, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies of Palm Beach County, and My Ashes to Beauty to provide ongoing support and parenting classes.

  6. Education Foundation of Palm Beach County - Beginning in 1984, business leaders in Palm Beach County have partnered with the School District of Palm Beach County to serve the highest needs Title I schools in the county. The Education Foundation helps to fund programs to close achievement gaps, such as providing curriculum extension programs and STEM resources to schools, career academies that target low-performing students and schools, and awarding grants and scholarships to teachers and students. In 2016 the Red Apple Supplies store was opened to provide teachers with free school supplies. Since opening RAS 6 years ago, over $1 million in free school supplies have been provided to teachers and students. The Education Foundation has a massive impact on helping teachers and students in 106 Palm Beach County public schools serving 122,065 students and 1,531 teachers and administrators. They recognize what students need to be successful while appreciating the hard work of the teachers and administrators who show up every day to help them succeed in their future.

  7. Urban Youth Impact - Since 1997, Urban Youth Impact has been helping to serve kids from some of the most at-risk communities in Palm Beach County. More than 300 inner-city youth are led and loved in an after school program, The Leadership Academy each week. They provide other programs as well such as career planning and internship opportunities, a mentorship program, and an arts program. The goal of UYI is to equip and empower students to succeed in school, find their purpose, and become productive and successful within their eventual careers. Recently UYI partnered with Jupiter Christian School to open a campus within the inner-city to bring quality private education to students in the community. Enrollment is steadily growing after their first school year was a success!

These are organizations that Renew Family Wealth stands behind because we have seen the incredible impact they’ve had on people's lives in our community.

We wish you and your families a happy holiday season and cannot wait to see how your end of year gift enriches lives in Palm Beach County in 2023.

Love,

Everyone on the Renew Family Wealth team!
