Pillar 1: Relationships
A pillar at Renew Family Wealth is a desire for intimacy in all our relationships. We believe that a healthy team is one that is continually growing and experiencing life together in new ways. With that in mind, Hayden cast the vision for the first ever Renew Family Wealth team building adventure. We packed our tents, boots, and bear cans and hopped on a plane to California to spend 3 days in the beautiful Ansel Adams Wilderness, just outside of Yosemite National Park. As we hiked the six miles to base camp, we saw less and less travelers and watched as the trails became increasingly wilder. After almost 5 hours, we made camp at Superior Lake. We got cozy really quick as we felt temperatures rapidly drop into the teens that first night. Hot coffee and more exploring awaited us the following morning.
Since the trip had gone so smoothly thus far, we believed that the next two days would be a dream. However, we should have known that past performance is no indicator of future results. Halfway through the second day, Scott rolled his ankle miles away from camp. At this moment, the team had no other option than to come around Scott and support him both emotionally and physically. We made it back to civilization the third day, with Scott showing tremendous strength and grit along the way. The whole trip was an opportunity for us to step outside of our comfort zone and experience something you can’t find in an office. We cannot wait for next year’s adventure!
